Think of it!!! No more huge bookbags, "I left my book in my locker", "my locker's jammed", tardies would decrease, and the list goes on! How much are these? Surely less than 7 textbooks. Would the district issue one on which books could be custom loaded for each student? Sounds like inventory would be MUCH easier!Don't know that much about the technology, but it sure sounds promising--Kindle OR iPad.

I think it is worth keeping an eye on. The previous poster makes a good point. The technology is evolving however, the concept is interesting.

Why don't you ask David Steele to look into it on a preliminary basis? Most of the books we use in the district are on the web. I cant imagine it would be too difficult for publishers to convert them to e-book readable formats.

The e-book reader is certainly going to take the place of physical books. The district should study this.
